BAI was founded in 1974 as a software consulting firm. Our accomplishments over these many years cover the full spectrum of information technology. We have completed software development projects large and small, and worked with systems ranging from embedded microprocessors to large-scale mainframes ... and just about everything in between! We have developed and successfully marketed commercial software for business applications and word processing. We have developed and presented numerous training courses in areas such as office automation, software quality assurance, and computer security. We have analyzed and solved problems big and small covering the gamut of technologies and management issues. During the past 20 years we have witnessed dramatic changes in the information technology field. Systems have become increasingly complex, and interdependent. Threats to the security of our information technology have grown exponentially. In response to these changes, BAI has become increasingly specialized in the area of information security.
BAI is a provider of information security training and consulting services, specializing in certification and accreditation (C&A) of DoD and federal information systems. We are a small business based in Southwest Virginia supporting a nationwide clientele of government programs, contractors, product developers and service providers.
BAI previously developed training programs for DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA). These have now been completely revamped to reflect the unification of information security and risk management practices in accordance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF). Both DoD-oriented and Federal civil agency oriented courses are available, consisting of one-day “fundamentals” and three-day “in depth” courses. Training is offered on a regularly-scheduled basis at selected locations nationwide, as well as in an online instructor-led format and “on demand” at government and contractor sites. To date, thousands of military personnel, civilian government employees and contractor personnel have completed one or more these training programs. BAI also offers consulting services to government and commercial organizations to support RMF implementation. BAI ‘s training and consulting programs are presented on the website www.rmf.org
